Mixing Technology

LMI features two state-of-the-art GK 135 Intermesh Mixers. The size and design features of the mixers are optimized to give the best combination of temperature control, dispersion and throughput.

Both machines are powered by 1200 HP drive systems and rotor speeds of up to 80 RPM, making them suitable for even the toughest compounds. Both feature digital hydraulic control of the ram pressure to apply consistent forces to the batch during mixing, and excellent temperature control to all the primary parts of the machine.

Mixers
• Two GK 135 Intermesh Mixers (HF Mixing Group, Germany)
• 1,200 HP DC drive system, 5 to 60 RPM (Mixer 1)
• 1,200 HP Hagglunds hydraulic drive system, 5 to 80 RPM (Mixer 2)
• Budzar mixer temperature control 50°F to 250°F
• Digit servo hydraulic system for charge door, drop door, and ram control
• Minor ingredient verification and weight validation
• Polymer verification and weight validation
• Complete cycle trend reporting

Mills
• Each mixing line equipped with two (2) RCM (Akron, OH)
84” x 26” hydraulic mills
• Twin 200 horsepower hydraulic motors (Line 1 & 2)
• Independent speed adjustment on each roll
• Independent temperature control on each roll
• Digital gap adjustment
• Temperature range from 50°F to 250°F
• Control system downloads – roll speeds, gap settings, and
temperature settings
• Data collection – computer monitored temperature differential
and cooling water flow rates
